Man dies as earth caves in at drainage work site in Chennai
A 50-year-old man, who was digging a trench for a drainage line at Otteri here, died after earth caved in and fell on him on Friday.
Police said Kuppusamy and his friend Murugesan had been digging a trench on the Bristley Road at Otteri. They were standing in the deep trench and working when the earth caved in burying them.
Passersby pulled Murugesan out of the trench.
Murugesan was admitted to Stanley Government Hospital.
